Sussex Karate Association has been established for over 26 years, and is based in Worthing, West Sussex. It was established by Robert Birchlea, a 7th Dan Chief Instructor with over 42 years karate experience. Robert is still running the assocation and he is fully DBS checked.
They welcome all grades of students, from beginners right through to advanced students, and to those looking to achieve the highest grades and those wishing to gain an extra skill to enhance their lives.
Depending on experience, starters may wish to first visit and try our Karate Clubs on Tuesdays and Sundays held at the Broadwater Parish Hall, Broadwater, Worthing. Lessons will include basic techniques, but also utilise traditional Kata, which consists of forms of movement.
For those with previous experience, or not wishing to take part in a larger group situation, you may wish to take advantage of personal training options, available by appointment at their private Dojo. Please contact us to discuss you personal requirements.
Should you prefer, they also offer you small group personal sessions at their Dojo, which are often suitable and preferable for small groups of either female or mixed sex, who wish to engage in personal safety techniques and/or enhanced mental and physical well-being. Again, these sessions are by prior arrangement.
In addition, they shall bring fitness to all the students to make them mentally and physically stronger.
They realise that people have different levels and reasons for participating, and will always assist in finding the best suited method for your personal satisfaction.
